My name is Molly Pearce and I love music.  I started taking piano lessons when I was about 6 and am still taking them now.  I took singing lessons around that age as well, but I’m not sure that they helped me very much.  My Mom is the one that should be given the credit for teaching me how to sing.  Most of my knowledge of music has come from my parents, piano teacher, or trying to model such singers as Alison Krauss.  When I was 14, I started to play the banjo and love it.  My Dad has taught me everything I know about the banjo and has helped me along with practicing modal and diatonic theory.  In the band, I play the upright bass.  When we first started the band, I was actually playing a Taylor AB2 Acoustic Electric bass, but this last Christmas of 2004 I asked for an upright bass and have played that since.  I try to practice quite a bit a day so that I will continue to progress on the instruments that I have chosen, but hope to soon focus on just one or two instruments as to spend more time on them.  I love being in the band with my family, and I take it as such a privilege to be involved with something like this at my age.   It’s another privilege that it is my whole family doing this together.  Music is a common love that we share amongst us and I believe that this band is a huge ministry for us and hopefully a blessing to others.

Name:  My real name is Amelia Marie Pearce, but everybody calls me Molly.
Age:  17
Birthplace: Glendale, CA.

Bio Questionnaire:

Favorite Food: I would have to say that sushi is one of my top favorites, but I like a lot of different kinds of food ... mexican, Indian.
Favorite Drink: I’m not sure if I have a favorite drink, but I do like Starbucks, Iced Tea, Coke, and Root Beer.
Favorite Color:I don't have a favorite color, but I like the look of turqoise and brown together.
Shoe Size:8 or 8 1/2.
All Time Favorite Album: This is very difficult for me, but I love New Grass Revival’s ‘On the Boulevard’, all of Nickel Creek’s CD’s, and quite a few of Alison Krauss and Union Station’s records.
3 Favorite Bands: I like a lot of different types of music, but I’d have to say that Nickel Creek, AKUS, and New Grass Revival are the top three.
Least Favorite Band: This is really hard for me, and I don’t think that I actually have a least favorite band, but one of the kinds of music that really bugs me is rap.
Favorite Band Member: I can’t point out a favorite band member.  I love them all for different reasons.
Favorite Actor:  I don’t think I have a favorite actor, but Jim Carrey makes me laugh, and people like Steve Martin, Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix are really good actors.
Favorite Actress: I’m really bad at making decisions, and so, if I thought about it for awhile(a long time), I could probably point out a favorite actress, but for now I can only point out some good actresses such as; Goldie Hawn, Katherine Hepburn, Ashley Judd, Liv Tyler, and Nicole Kidman.
Favorite TV Show:Survivorman, Gilmore Girls (sorry), Man VS. Wild, and any soccer game.
3 Favorite Movies: Oh gosh, there are so many movies that I like, but I really love “Signs”, “The Village”, the new “War of the Worlds”, “On Golden Pond”, “Dumb and Dumber”, and so many others.  There’s really too many that are at the top, but these come close.
Favorite Cartoon: The only cartoons that I remember watching are things like Catdog, Hey Arnold, or the Disney Movies, but I’m not sure that I could say that I loved any of these.
On my XMAS list this year is... : I really don’t know what I want yet, it usually takes me awhile to figure it out.  But it usually consists of coins for a coin collection that I have, most of which I inherited from my Dad, new picks, strings or parts for some instrument that we’re building.  These are some of the things that I’ve asked for in the past, but for this Christmas, I haven’t even thought about it yet.
Favorite QUOTE: “Only one life, 'twill soon be past, only what's done for Christ will last.”
My All-Star Band player picks? A great bluegrass or jazz band would be made up of any combination of people from Alison Krauss and Union Station, New Grass Revival, Nickel Creek, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Edgar Meyer, or Ricky Skaggs.
Favorite Musician: I admire people like Bela Fleck, Alison Krauss, Jerry Douglas, Dan Tyminski, Chris Thile, Steve Morse, Edgar Meyer, Mark O’Connor, Sam Bush, and Victor Wooten for how much time and practice that they put into their instruments and musicianship.
Favorite Video Game:Fifa soccer, although I don't play a lot
Favorite Book: I enjoyed reading Ray Bradbury’s “Martian Chronicles”.  I also loved reading Jim Cook’s biography, “Under His Majesty’s Command”.  All of C.S. Lewis’s books are interesting and have strong meanings.  Also Andrew Murray's and K.P.Yohannan's books ..... But there are so many books!!!
Favorite Animal: I like all kinds of animals, but I love the two dogs that we have, their names are Buster and Rebel.
Favorite Sport: Football, the REAL one ... Soccer !!!
Favorite Activity: I love doing things to further my knowledge of Christ, .... BUT.... I’ve always liked really gory stuff.  I enjoy skinning and dissecting rattlesnakes whenever we encounter them.  I enjoy building models of creatures whenever I have the time.  I enjoy spending time jamming and practicing with my family.  I also love singing worship music, it puts me in a state of glorifying God that I wish I could have 24/7.  Cooking and baking are also fun.
Favorite Game: I love playing games, but I especially like playing poker with Wil and Cate, 5000, Shanghai Rummy, Sticks, Yachtzee, Phase 10, Golf, Egyptian War, Nerts, Up and Down the River, and Hearts.
Favorite Book of the Bible: I love the books of Romans, Colossians, Philippians, and James mostly right now.
Who is God? God is the creator of the world and the one who sent His Son, Jesus Christ, as a slave to the world, so that we may be saved.
Who is Jesus? Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, who came to this world, never sinning, and gave His life on the cross so that our sinful lives may be saved.  He is the Lord of my life, who, though I continually fail Him, loves me and everyone who will put their faith, hope and love in Him.
What is important to me? My relationship with God, the choices that I make, that Christ is involved in every part of my life, my family, my friends, music, and missions.
What are my 3 most important life goals? To live a life dedicated to Christ and to try to be as much like Him as I can through music, marriage, friendship, and parenting, to be able to love everybody around me (1 Corinthians 13) , to be an accomplished musician, and to make a successful missions trip to an unreached peopel group.
Where do I see myself in 10 years? I hope to be married or engaged in ten years, graduated from college, and playing music different places.  I hope to be in another country serving as a missionary, but whatever God wants, that's what I want
How I became a Christian:  I first gave my life to the Lord when I was 4 with my Dad and brother, when my Mom was gone on a retreat.  But I never actually understood and dedicated my life to the Lord and was in His Word daily until I was about 12, which is the age that I was baptized.  I now do my best to have Him lead my life, to stay in His Word, and to love and glorify Him in everything that I do.  I am human, though, and continue to fail the God of grace that still loves and forgives me in spite of my shortcomings.
